<< "And we, nephilims, tend to love in a very overwhelming way. Falling in love only once, to die of pain for love. My former tutor used to say that the hearts of shadowhunters were like those of angels: They felt every human pain, but they never healed. ">>

Despite being the end of the saga, this book does not have many battle scenes as one might think. What motivates you to continue reading is the suspense of how the war will end with Sebastian. what is going to happen? Will the Shadowhunters win? Many questions arise at the end of this saga, mainly, because Sebastian is the second villain of the series, a villain with almost the same goals as his father, however, both are very different.
For example, Sebastian has more personal goals than those of his father, Valentine, who swore that what he wanted to do was for the good of Shadowhunters. In addition, that Sebastian, turns out to be a shadowhunter with great skills in manipulation and deception. A being, who undoubtedly is attractive as a villain. However, he does not have that evil that characterizes a good villain, he can be selfish, but he does not have that characteristic that motivates you to fear him.
On the other hand, we read a more mature version of Jace and Clary, who are looking to find a way to stop Sebastian before it is too late, even if they are not entirely sure of Sebastian's goals. Because, despite having matured throughout the series, they remain impulsive and stubborn, without thinking before jumping into action.
Also, we have Alec, who was cut by her boyfriend, Magnus. A boy, who is used to having his life under control, but, that this event leads him completely to chaos. I loved how Cassandra described this moment after the breakup, both for Alec and Magnus. Cassandra focused all the narration of these two characters in the perfect mix of emotions and actions, not only focusing on the latter.
In the same way, the landscapes that she creates in this saga take us to a fantasy world that you can imagine as she describes. Although, I think Cassandra must have developed more for Sebastian, that she will show us what she really craved, what she thought, what she felt, and not that we saw it from the perspective of the other characters.
Secrets of one of the most emblematic characters of the series, are finally revealed in this book. The end of one saga and the beginning of another are mixed in the end of Mortal Instruments. The last book in a saga that is probably the favorite of many, is a book that they have to read if you don't want to have doubts.
