Sypnosis
It's not everyday you find yourself in combat with a half-lion, half-human.
But when you're the son of a Greek god, it happens. And now my friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess is in chains and only five half-blood heroes can join the quest to defeat the doomsday monster.
Oh, and guess what? The Oracle has predicted that not all of us will survive...

Summary
This book bring us another chapter of the story of Percy, son of Poseidon, who has a mission. Rescue two demigods from a school, but not everything is easy. Annabeth disappears. Now, Percy has to bring her back to camp half-blood, in the middle of winter. One thing is sure, he has no change to control this mission, Artemis hunters are on the game.
I like the way, uncle Rick, change time lapse compared to the first two books in the series, this time he describes how cold the United States can be on December, no sunny and hot days for this book. Compared to Sea of Monsters when we can read how Percy’s abilities develop, this time we get the chance to meet Artemis hunters. Girls, who don’t like boys…
Percy, at the beginning of the book, has a rough time with this characters. We also get to know more about Thalia, daughter of Zeus, god of the Olympus. She is a really interesting character, because she has a past (like Annabeth), but she isn’t disposed to tell other what she used to live.
“And I myself supported a girl destined to be my best friend, or my worst enemy”
-Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Sea of Monsters
I also liked the fact that Percy is really distracted, he may a hero, but, like everyone else has its own problems. Like, the fact, he can’t see obvious things. It's really funny to discover the true about some facts that happen through the book.
What I liked the most is that, in this book, we can read more about other gods, and greek mythology characters, and their background.
If you like Greek Mythology, you definitely would like this series.
