Peter and Lara are not longer pretending. This time is real. But, this is the first boyfriend-girlfriend relation Lara has. She doesn’t know anything about dating. ANYTHING. But, she likes Peter, a lot more that she expected.

The thing is, Peter is still seeing Gen, and Lara doesn’t know what to think. Gen is Peter’s ex-girlfriend, and the fact that both of them are close makes Lara confused. Also, John Ambrose McClaren responded Lara’s love letter, and, old feelings she thought were not longer in her heart has risen from the deep of her heart.

<< I need physical proof that a girl liked me in middle school, otherwise who would ever believe it?>>

-John Ambrose, P.S. Still Love You, Jenny Han

This time, I haven’t watched the movie before reading the book, and, let me tell you, Dreamers, it has been really difficult.

Let me tell you the first book of this series, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, ended up really different from the movie, and that was a big shock for me (who watched the movie first), specially because it was an open ending! But, the beginning of this book is really beautiful, I was really expecting for it, and it was better than the movie (the first one, because not every book adaptation is accurate, even if the movie was almost perfect), the first chapter happens only a day after the end of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Also, this second book of the series continues the problem of the hot tube video, that wasn’t resolved in the last book. And, it was more different that the movie. This problem, was such a big deal in the first third of this sequel.

P.S. Still Love You wasn’t as girly as the previous book, and, it wasn’t as innocent. Actually, it was a little bit more adult? I mean, Lara’s perspective is a little bit more mature. I think this is, because she is the older now (after Morgot’s went to college in Scotland) , and she just got used to it, even if it took her six months to it. Of course, she is still young and a teenager, so, she is still innocent, and, she has a lot of expectation now that she has a real boyfriend.

And. if you think there a lot of Lara and Peter’s moments, this is not totally accurate. I mean, there are more couple and cute moments of both, but now, Lara’s life involved doing more activities than before. So, she makes friends with new people.

We met the famous John Ambrose McClaren in this book. He is the perfect guy! I mean, he is intelligent, handsome, outgoing and has charisma. A ghost from Lara’s past, that returns after a love letter, that our main character thought lost. Lara and John have a lot of chemistry, they are really alike. And, his comeback makes Lara and Peter relationship complicated, also the fact that Peter is still in contact with Gen, his ex-girlfriend.

This book made me nervous while I was reading it. Not, the fact of the love triangle, but, how Peter and Lara relationship was developing (I am Peter K. biased). Also, there is the fact, that Lara was somehow childish and immature through the whole book, but, at the end, she really surprised me. She grew up a lot, through this book.

P.S. Still Love You, is a perfect book to read on a weekend.
