Winter is the last book of Lunar Chronicles series, in which Marissa has told us the story of three different couples: Cinder & Kai, Scarlet & Wolf, and Cress & Thorne. In this last book we weet princess Winter, stepdaughter of Queen Levana, and Jacin, best friend of the princess and a guard of the palace.
Jacin is back in Luna after helping Cinder to Kidnap Emperor Kaito, knowing all the risks it involved. Because, he betrayed the crown of Luna, and Levana itself. But he only has one worry, Winter. His only reason to be back at Luna.
Winter knows that the walls of the palace bleeds, she knows she is a girl of ice and she is about to die surrounded by ice. And when the hallucinations appears, the thing that can calm her are the words of his best friend, Jacin. Nevertheless, when this one is been judge by her stepmother, she is the only one who can rescue him.
Cinder, Kai, Wolf, Iko, Cress and Thorne are in the middle of the space while the Earth is been attacked by the soldiers of Levana. They been making plans for the revolution of Luna, where, if they win they could take off the prices of their heads, and if they lose, they could be dead in a manner of seconds. When the palace of Kai is under attack, they know is the time to start to move. All they need is to infiltrate in Luna, and the only option to do it is if Kai returns to fulfill his job as emperor.

Like the other books we get to know the perspective of all the character, because the chapters are related by the different characters, that’s why this book is fat in comparison with the other books. At the same time, when they separate from each other, we get to know what happens to each other and how they feel through all the situations they experience. I love this saga, because the story is big and it is easy to read. We even read some chapters of Levanas’ perspective.
In this book we get to know a new couple. Winter and Jacin. I think they a really cute couple, they have met for a long time, they know each other perfectly. And even if they know they like each other, the relation can’t be, because Winter is a princess and Jacin is only a guard. Also, Levana is behind Jacin, she doesn’t trust him just for the fact he interact with Cinder.
There was a moment I thought that Winter wasn’t going to be involved in the revolution, because she is described as gentle, humble. Also, she doesn’t use his lunar gift that’s why she suffer from hallucinations, she is crazy. She doesn’t seem a character strong enough to support the cruelty of war.
On the other side, Jacin is able to do everything for Winter, even if that means betray Luna. Marissa describes him as a lunar who is serious, strong in mind and body,but he doesn’t possess many abilities with his Lunar gift.
At the same time, this book give us an end to all the couple we met in the previous books, even if the end is open.

Another thing I like to say in this review is that ¡we finally meet Luna! The last stories happens on Earth, nevertheless this is the revolution of Luna.
Another think I like the most is that you never know what is going to happen. At the beginning I thought this was going to be like The Hunger Games, this revolution starts with the people when someone face the tyrant is on the power. Just then, ¡BOOM! The story gives an unexpected turn that I shout of emotion. I really like this factor, nevertheless, there is more than one. That is why I couldn’t be more than one day without reading the book.
And, this book has many similarities with the original story of Snow White. Both, Cress and Winter are the books with more similarities with the original stories. Even if it doesn’t seem like all the remakes that are already exist.
Winter is a book that I couldn't stop reading, with a lot of twist on the plot of the story. One never know what would happen next, something or someone can change the story. There is action, comedy, drama, and we meet some new characteristics of the characters and we can read how they evolved from the beginning,
