Synopsis
Nico had warned them. Going through the House of Hades would stir the demigods' worst memories. Their ghosts would become restless. Nico may actually become a ghost if he has to shadow-travel with Reyna and Coach Hedge one more time. But that might be better than the alternative: allowing someone else to die, as Hades foretold.
Jason's ghost is his mother, who abandoned him when he was little. He may not know how he is going to prove himself as a leader, but he does know that he will not break promises like she did. He will complete his line of the prophecy: To storm or fire the world must fall.
Reyna fears the ghosts of her ancestors, who radiate anger. But she can't allow them to distract her from getting the Athena Parthenos to Camp Half-Blood before war breaks out between the Romans and Greeks. Will she have enough strength to succeed, especially with a deadly hunter on her trail?
Leo fears that his plan won't work, that his friends might interfere. But there is no other way. All of them know that one of the Seven has to die in order to defeat Gaea, the Earth Mother.

The seven demigods in the Prophecy of the Seven, have less than a month to reach Athens, Greece, where Gea will wake up. For that, the primordial goddess needs the blood of Olympus, of two demigods, a woman and a male.
That is not all, with an impending war between Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood, the gods are worse than ever. With their divided personalities, they are unable to fight Gea and the giants. To restore the order of the personalities of the gods, Nico, Reyna and coach Hedge embark on a mission to return the Athena Parthenos to Camp Half-Blood.
Annabeth is worried about Percy, after returning from Tartarus, both have to recover from the experience. However, both know that they have a mission to accomplish before returning home.
Piper is worried, once his mother, Aphrodite told him that her voice would fail her when she needed the most. Her fears that may come true.
Leo is worried, he made a promise to Calypso, and plans to keep it even if it means sacrificing everything. For that, he needs the help of his friends, even if that means he must hide secrets from the rest of the Argo II crew.

The Blood of Olympus is the last stop for Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank and Leo to prevent Gea from waking up completely. His path is full of surprises, forgotten gods and giants seeking revenge. Arriving in Greece is more difficult than they think, after all it is their last kilometers to travel to determine the end of the world.
It is a book in which two of our largest demigods (Percy and Annabeth) have to leave their comfort zone to pass several tests, where they must rely on the rest of the Argo II crew to save them.
Rick Riordan, leave behind these two legendary characters in the fandom, to focus on those we met in this saga, because although we would all like to continue reading the adventures of these two characters, both have had their moment of glory. It is time to see others grow.
Likewise, Nico di Angelo, a secondary character in the Percy Jackson saga and the gods of Olympus, has an important mission to ensure that the gods and demigods of Argo II, fight together to defeat the giants, bring the Athena Parthenos to Camp Half Blood. This character is one of most enigmatic of the entire universe that Rick Riordan has created and after knowing his secret in the House of Hades, he has become more sullen with those who try to take care of him and protect him.
In his journey, all his anger, his pain and his suffering may come to light for his fellow travelers, and only then can he open himself to the other demigods that surround them. Can Nico overcome his fears in this book? The demigods of Argo II already did it, now it is Nico's turn to make this adventure his own, but this can cost him his life. Traveling in the shadows is not easy, especially on such a long journey.
Not only that, on their trip, Reyna, Nico and Hedge are chased by a hunter, enemy of all hunters and Amazons, enemy of Artemis herself. Will they manage to escape in time from him?

For five books, and almost a year since this adventure began, we could see the seven demigods grow and defeat their greatest fears. We read how they developed their skills inherited by their parents, as well as passed several tests and monsters, also how they beat several giants to prevent Gea from waking up. Now, in this book, everything they ever learned should be applied to prevent all humanity from becoming extinct, as well as saving the Olympic gods and their legacy.
This book is still told by the perspective of several of our demigods, we can read how they feel in the last days of their mission. And if I'm honest, it's a book that, when reading these perspectives, filled me with a lot of emotion. Because these demigods practically abandoned their lives in the United States, which left their friends and loved ones behind, not knowing if they would return alive to see them again. And in Percy's case, he hasn't seen his mother and stepfather since Hera kidnapped him to be part of the Prophecy of the Seven.
The Blood of Olympus is a book full of suspense, adventure, feelings, gods and ancient and forgotten monsters, as well as new experiences for the demigods of this quest. A battle about to begin between both camps and a threat to neutralize before it wakes up. This book definitely kept me in its pages.
