“The deal, is the deal”

-Six of Crows, Leigh Bardugo

First of all, I want to say, that Six of Crows is a book you deserve to read.

I mean, the characters of this book are real, Leigh really makes this characters like real persons. He makes them suffer, he makes them have traumas and deal with it, nevertheless, they are able to go on, to have that instinct of survival. He took his characters far from the shallow, not like other authors, where they only care about what happens on the timeline of the book, he creates them a past, a history, one by one, and by, some circumstances they get to know each other.

For example, Kaz has a brilliant mind, a reputation to keep, an ambitious man, a man who survive, overall, all he wants is revenge. Revenge for his brother. Revenge from himself. But, he also knows love, friendship, and when he has to choose between his goal or his desires, he is in a trial. Kaz is the most complicated character on this book. He has too many secrets.

Another example is Jesper, who is a boy with an addiction with games, he has a lot of debts and regrets. That is why he is going to do everything to pay those debts and return with the ones he loves the most.

The are criminals, they are not good people.

Other thing that I like about this book is the action. This book never gets you bored. I mean, there a lot of moments where the characters are in danger, like every five minutes you don’t know what is going to happen next. Not only for been in the Ice Court, for how unpredictable they can be. They are humans, and the make mistakes, mistakes that can cost their lives. Also, in their way to the Ice Court they can find more enemies that they can imagine.

And, what I like the most, is that, the main of the characters love stories are in second place, first is complete the quest and then, their personal life's. I mean, Leigh never focuses on romantic love stories, or on tragic memories, at least, it is related with what the characters experience; that is what I like the most of this book.

Six of Crows is a book full of action and real characters. A book you need to read if you want to enter a magical but dangerous world.
