<< I caused the Red Sunset of Zunn >>

-El Príncipe del Sol, Claudia Ramírez Lomelí

I read this book because this book was very successful, both in the booktube community and in bookstagram. And the truth is that I had high expectations of this book, for all those reviews I read and saw.

The truth is that the first thing I thought, when I read this book was: "You can tell, it was written by a novice writer." And with that I mean Claudia's writing, which at first seemed to me like I was reading a children's and non-juvenile book. That is, the way Claudia tells everything that happens, the way she seems to describe absolutely everything that happens to the main characters, leaving aside the feelings of the characters, which, in this case, for the situation they face should be something fundamental and not something left in the background. However, as the reading progresses, the narration of the book improves considerably, especially in the third part of the book, where the characters face different situations.

Claudia, introduces us to several characters in this saga, a group of seventeen-year-old friends, who are playing a very important role for an entire nation. But, these characters are still children, children who are still impulsive, who do not think about all the consequences that their actions create, children who seek adventures, children who think they can solve what adults could not. There were some moments when I despair with these characters, and, Claudia makes them mature in the book, makes them look beyond their noses and interests and become adults.

Although, something I did not like about these characters, is the confidence they place in characters of doubtful loyalty. I mean, it is okay to share information for another, but how do you know if their intentions are the best or the worst? Likewise, the characters have definite personalities, but, I would have liked Claudia to form more character in them. However, I don't know if she did it on purpose because they are still teenagers, but I hope to see more character in the second book of the saga.

There was a character that disappointed me the most, and that is our protagonist, Emil, who at first seemed willing to change everything, despite having a weak character. And, although he has matured throughout the book, he left me waiting for a stronger change of character, a more radical change for a phrase that Claudia gave us at the beginning of the book.

<< They had been warned. How did they not see it coming? There was nothing but darkness here >>

-El Príncipe del Sol, Claudia Ramírez Lomelí

El Príncipe del Sol, showed us a world full of magic, with the powers of the Sun and the Moon, a past and a prophecy that can change the course of the saga. Claudia did a great job in creating this fantastic and new world, in creating a whole continent with a complicated history, to two countries with a relationship as fragile as crystal.

She also created a relationship of friendship as strong as the diamond itself, that no matter what each of the characters had in their daily lives, they could be free once they were together. In the same way, she gives us a romance that is tender, based on friendship, and, leaves us in the background, focusing on what really matters to the protagonist. And best of all, it gives us diversity in the relationships that the characters maintain.

Likewise, the fight, suspense scenes are the best in the book. So many things happen in a single moment, that you can't stop reading. Secrets come to light and more questions are formed at the end of the book, which you simply cannot stop reading.

If you are looking for a book full of magic, princes and adventure, this is undoubtedly a book that you can not miss in your reading list, Dreamers!
